Automotive Logistics FAQ

What does Hero Group offer in automotive logistics?

Hero Group offers integrated logistics solutions for automotive manufacturers and suppliers: plant and production logistics, JIT/JIS supply, sequencing, contract logistics, value-added services, warehousing, spare parts logistics, and transport with our own fleet of mega-trailers, including fixed routes to Central and Eastern Europe.

What does production and plant logistics include?

We integrate material flow and production directly into your plant: plant logistics and in-house logistics, production supply and line-feeding, Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery for minimal inventory, and Just-in-Sequence (JIS) supply with sequence-oriented provision at the assembly line.

What is the difference between JIT and JIS?

With Just-in-Time (JIT), parts are delivered exactly on schedule to keep inventory levels low. With Just-in-Sequence (JIS), they are additionally provided in the exact order in which they are installed on the assembly line. JIS is therefore the more sophisticated level of sequence-oriented supply.

What does contract logistics at Hero Group include?

We manage complete parts flows, including control, reporting, and value-added services: customized contract logistics for vehicle plants and suppliers, picking and distribution, value-added services such as pre-assembly, module assembly, kitting, and quality control, as well as logistics for series production ramp-up and pre-series.

What does warehouse and warehousing logistics look like?

Reliable warehouse logistics as the foundation for stable vehicle production: warehousing and inventory logistics with digital stock transparency, cross-docking for rapid turnaround via our own network, and optimization of space and material flow.

What does spare parts and aftermarket logistics include?

High availability and on-time distribution for retailers and workshops: management of spare parts supply chains and inventory with high availability.

In which countries is the Hero Group active?

Our focus is on fixed routes between Germany and Central/Eastern Europe, including Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, and Turkey, supplemented by routes to Western Europe (UK, France, Spain) and North Africa (Tunisia, Morocco).

How does the Hero Group ensure digitalization and transparency?

End-to-end real-time transparency: visibility into goods flows and inventory, digital shipment tracking with KPI-based reporting, and integration with your systems.

What certifications does the Hero Group hold?

The HERO GROUP is certified according to ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 50001 for energy management. This ensures both systematic quality management and a structured, continuous approach to energy efficiency and consumption.
